Punchavayal is a beautiful scenic village which is thickly populated by people of various castes and religions.  Assisi Bhavan Clarist convent was started here on  10th  December 1979. As Puchavayal and neighbouring villages were very backward educationally and financially in those days the sisters concentrated there attention on developmental and social welfare  projects and programmes.The situation has been changed and now they are engaged mainly in Parish ministry. They are also conducting LKG and UKG classes for the benefit of the children of the locality.
