Alphonsa Sadan was  established on 6th January 2008- the year of the canonization of St.Alphonsa at the request of the parishioners of Keerikara to have a convent there. The  sisters started staying in a house given for their use by a parishioner. A new convent was built in 2012 and it was blessed and inaugurated on 30 th September 2012 by Mar Mathew Arackal, Bishop of Kanjirappally. The sisters are actively involved in teaching at Mlamala, pastoral work and all the other activities undertaken for the spiritual, social and material wellbeing of  the people.
